CrossFit Open 20.1 Workout: Burpees and Barbells


CrossFit Open 20.1 is here, announced Thursday night in Austin, Texas. The workout includes something every CrossFitter fears: one hundred burpees.

CrossFit Open 20.1

The workout is ten rounds for time of:

  • 8 Ground to Overhead (95lbs)
  • 10 Bar-Facing Burpees

Time cap is 15 minutes.

Panchik 20.1 Time

Scott Panchik became the unlikely winner of the 20.1 matchup with Rich Froning. Setting a conservative pace, Panchik managed to complete the workout in under ten minutes.

Panchik: Mayhem’s New Member

In the opening broadcast of 20.1, Scott Panchik and Rich Froning joined Sean Woodland to formally announce Panchik would be joining CrossFit Mayhem Freedom as their four member. Scott joins Rich Froning, Tasia Percevecz, and Chyna Cho. He replaces one-and-done Dre Strohm.

2020 CrossFit Open

The October CrossFit Open is the official start of the 2020 CrossFit Games season after a 2019 change to how the seasons are structured. It is the tenth anniversary of the CrossFit Open, bringing hundreds of thousands of community members together for an online global ranking of fitness. Thousands of gyms participate in the Open each year, which consists of five workouts announced each Thursday. Workout results are due the following Mondays. Registration is available at the CrossFit Games website.
