WODDITY at Sanctionals, Jacob Heppner, Cole Sager, and Camille Leblanc-Bazinet Get IOC’d

-

First, I want to tell you about this big thing I’m about to do.

WODDITY is going on the road. I’ll be loading my life and my dog into a truck and trailer, and spending the next eight months driving between and reporting live from every North American CrossFit Sanctional event, finishing at the 2020 CrossFit Games in Madison.

Yes, that includes Rich Froning’s Mayhem Classic, Wodapalooza, the West Coast Classic, Atlas Games, Mid-Atlantic CrossFit Championship, CanWest Games, Asbury Park Summer Games, and MORE.

Along the way I’ll be filming a new YouTube series called Road Warrior Fitness. Road Warrior will look at fitness on the road, doing epic workouts in epic places, like national parks, ghost towns, and abandoned airfields.

To follow me on my journey, subscribe to my WODDITY YouTube channel. I have SO MUCH incredible CrossFit, health, and fitness content I’ll be releasing during this journey, so you won’t want to miss this.

To make sure you get full access to everything, including special events and meetups at Sanctionals and the CrossFit Games, find me on Patreon.com/woddity – becoming a supporter is as easy as twelve dollars a year.

CrossFit Games athletes Cole Sager and Camille Leblanc-Bazinet joined Jacob Heppner’s YouTube channel for International Online Qualifier workout number four.

Let’s break down their strategies for this 150 wall ball and 75 toes-to-bar workout:

  • Heppner had the most straightforward strategy, breaking his workout into five rounds of 15 toes-to-bar, and 30 wall balls in seven minutes.
  • Sager strategically completed larger sets, starting with 45 toes-to-bars and 70 wall balls. He then completed 21-60 and 9-20. His 6:50 benefitted from fewer transition times.
  • Camille started with 25 toes-to-bars and 50 wall balls before all mayhem broke loose. 20 toes-to-bar, 25 wall balls, then three sets of 10 and 25 to finish at 7:50.

It’s Tuesday, which means we may get a new Buttery Bros video today. Nothing has been released at the time of this recording, but keep your eye on their YouTube channel.

Bindu Bansinath of the New York Times Magazine wrote a touching letter of recommendation for deadlifting. He tells his story of emotional (and physical) growth to deadlift twice his body weight, while working out in a garage CrossFit gym in New Jersey.

Today’s CrossFit.com mainsite workout is following their latest favorite heavy rep scheme. This time, complete two sets of five, three sets of three, and four sets of one overhead squat.

And that’s it for news about CrossFit on Tuesday, September 2nd.

This podcast is sponsored by Road Warrior Fitness. Subscribe to WODDITY’s YouTube channel to catch us on the road between every North American CrossFit Sanctional event by searching YouTube for WODDITY. The first video airs Tuesday, the 10th of September, hitting the road and climbing a 14er in Colorado. Thanks for listening. We hope you rate, review, and subscribe.

I’m Ben Garves, thanks for listening and chat tomorrow.
